Steven McGovney

Steven McGovney has been making art since childhood. Trained in Design and Ceramics, Steven received an MFA from Otis Art Institute in 1973. He has worked in multiple media, but his focus is on the sculptural side of ceramics, with a whimsical flair.

In addition to his studio work, McGovney teaches ceramics. He says that "he is unfit for any other kind of work," and thanks his many collectors, including Bill Clinton and Terrence Stamp, "for letting me do what I do."

Steven's whimsical mixed media sculptures are shown in fine craft galleries nationwide, and he participates in several invitational shows throughout the year.
